filtec was founded in 1958 by Fred Calhoun (1931-2002), considered by many in the industry to be the father of modern packaging inspection. Fred envisioned a more efficient manner to inspect bottles, and created and sold the world’s first electronic Empty Bottle Inspector (EBI). This allowed the funding of filtec and the development of the next generation of EBI which became the industry standard. Fred went on to pioneer numerous other inspection, quality assurance and liability protection products for the beverage industry.
