As a senior software architect, work within an R&D organization to guide, design, and develop embedded, real-time software for new products.

 

Tasks:
Understand and define requirements for embedded software development. Provide architecture level design elements including flow charts, system diagrams, and specifications. Perform detailed design and software programming. Delegate programming responsibilities to other members of the technical team as appropriate. Work with management to develop schedules. Provide a level of project oversight from a systems standpoint to assure developments are on track.

 

Job Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering or related discipline along with a minimum of 5 years software design experience working with real-time embedded systems.

Knowledge of Embedded Linux and device drivers, knowledge of Ethernet communication, image processing and/or image analysis. Working experience on Cortex M3 embedded systems is a plus.

The candidate must have good analytical and problem-solving skills. Must be a quick learner with initiative. Must have people skills.

Work within an R&D organization to provide guidance and control for selecting electronic and mechanical components/materials. Maintain common parts and material database. Assist with parts procurement issues.

 

Tasks:
Identify and standardize on electrical parts, mechanical parts, and materials to be used for new designs in industrial equipment. Research and evaluate parts to establish compatibility and conformity to designs. Ensure parts used conform to company’s standard practices for all products. Locate sources and alternate sources for parts as required.

 

Ensure parts and materials used in the design stage of development conform to company’s standard parts list. Screen first time use parts, and material, controlling inclusion into the company’s standard parts catalogue. Maintain parts catalogue. Work with research and development, engineering, production and purchasing departments to resolve parts related issues including parts obsolescence, hard to get parts, and high cost part replacement, among others.

 

As a member of the research and development team, participate in new designs to ensure new components meet company standards, in addition to fulfilling design requirements. Research and provide information to designers on availability, cost, longevity, and maturity of parts. Obtain and provide specifications to designers. Provide guidance, recommendations, and overall discipline to parts selections. Maintain relationships with parts suppliers. Monitor industry trends, manufacturer’s news releases to provide guidance for future designs.

 

Job Qualifications:
Must have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent along with a minimum five years experience in a component engineering position or related field.

Must have a basic understanding of electronic, and electromechanical components along with a basic knowledge of materials used for industrial equipment.

Able to use databases and other standard computer tools for tracking parts. Must be able to read schematics.

Under general supervision from company guidelines, policies and practices, provides technical support in field to aid customers and resolve technical problems incurred in the installation or operation of company products. • Support Field Service Engineers World Wide to provide technical support required for installation, servicing, repair and modification of IDC products.
• Manage and perform site surveys, troubleshooting, testing, installation, commissioning and customer training.
• Assist with recommendations of electronic and mechanical improvements or changes to IDC products to further enhance the machine performance.
• Provide top-level customer support ensuring that all filtec machines are fully functional.

• Ensure that all Service Notices are completed in a timely manner.
• Assist in the writing of training manuals or quick fix documents that would be of benefit to the customer.
• Multi-level training of customers and/or filtec personnel in the use of the equipment, at the customer site or at the training facility in Torrance, CA.
• Provide IDC specific Radiation Safety Training (required for gamma technology) to customers during machine start-up as well as refresher training on an ongoing basis.
