Outer Sidewall Inspection

Front view inspection is the only way to be assured that the container is not damaged and no foreign objects or contaminants are present. This is especially so when inspecting brown, amber or fluted containers where visibility of the far side is obscured by the color or fluting. The Omnivision II is the only all surface empty bottle inspector that provides full front view inspection by taking up to 12 separate front view images of each container as it continuously rotates through the inspection area.

The ability to analyze 12 separate images of each bottle makes it easier to distinguish between normal design features and contamination or defects, providing more accurate inspection and reducing the false rejects. Sophisticated software divides each of the 12 images of each bottle into multiple overlapping inspection zones, filters the images to differentiate normal bottle characteristics from defects or contamination and then compares the results of each of the images to further differentiate defects from normal bottle characteristics.
