We are currently seeking for a Field Service Technician-based at the Torrance factory in California

 

Under general supervision from company guidelines, policies and practices, provides technical support in field to aid customers and resolve technical problems incurred in the installation or operation of company products. Will be required to build up Pre-owned machines at the factory in Torrance.

 

Activities are generally conducted with a high degree of independence and are virtually self-supervising. Consults with customer regarding pre- and post-installation problems.  Perform installation, start-up and checkout activities on newly installed systems.  May review customer equipment interface requirements.  Works closely with design engineering in evaluating product performance and conducting field trials. Provides support in the conduct and performance of equipment/system acceptance testing following installation. May conduct technical seminars and training for customer or company personnel, as well as informal on-the-job training for customers. Fills out various reports and paperwork. Compiles instruction manuals for IDC products or quick fix documents that would benefit the customers.

 

Requires extensive travel time (70%) to customer locations, which could at time include weekends.

 

Must be able to lift heavy weights, hand tools and basic electronics.


Must have two or more years of related job experience and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

CNC Machine Operator 3 (first and second shift available)
 
Job description:
The specific duties to be performed in this position include the following:
 
Under general supervision, fabricates component parts where set-ups are non-routine and tolerances are difficult to acquire and maintain. 
 
Operates and sets-up a variety of machine tools equipment to extremely close and complex tolerances including power mill, lathe, numerically controlled machine tools and other hand and power equipment of similar complexity. 
 
Reads and interprets blueprints, production diagrams and assembly drawings. 
 
Make complex measurements and advanced shop math calculations relative to tolerances, dimensions, tooling, feed and speed. 
 
May inspect fabricated parts. 
 
Check height, depth and thickness using vernier calipers, gauges, and other precision-measuring instruments. 
 
May prepare recommendations to modify shop methods or processes, relative to improved productivity and quality. 
 
May provide numerical control (NC) programming support.  Excludes journey level machinists.
 
Qualifications:
Reading, writing and math skills equivalent to those obtained from completion of high school or commensurate experience. 
 
Ability to operate a variety of machine tools to close tolerances, perform difficult set-ups, read blueprints, use precision-measuring instruments and perform shop math calculations.
 
Requires a minimum of 3 years of progressively complex machining assignments. Incumbents typically possess 6-8 years of related experience.
 
Must be flexible to work overtime hours when requested.
 
Is frequently required to walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The position requires also standing for a long period of time, bending, stooping, climbing and lifting.
 
Have own tools.
