The
LS-3 Slat Rejection System provides the capabability to divert product
from the production conveyor without product spillage due to missing
caps or defective seals. Handles virtually any container type, shape or
size. |
|

|

 | Conveyor Chain Speeds:
From 0 - 350 fpm. Top speed may vary due to the s
stroke distance and container stability. |
 | Air Requirements:
70 - 120 psi |
 | Accumulation Chain Requirements:
Refer to Installation Drawing 1-00473 or 1-00474
(Plan View) for more details. |
 | Container Shapes:
Any.(Refer to Industrial Dynamics Installation
Drawing 1-00473 or 1-00474 for more details.) |
 | Adjustable Stroke:
Standard Stroke - From 3.5" at 350
ft/min. (89 mm at 107 m/min.) to 5.5" at 250 ft/min (140 mm at
76 m/min.)
Long Stroke - From 5" at 250 ft/min. (127 27 mm at 76
m/min.) to 7" at 200 ft/min. (178 mm at 61 m/min.) |
 | Space Requirements:
1560 mm long x 300 mm deep |
 | Container Types:
Glass, Metal, Paper Board, and Plastic |
 | Change Parts:
No change parts are required for different
container types or shapes. |
|

 | Automatic Oiler
An automatic oiler lubricates all moving parts on
a preprogrammed basis, reducing wear and subsequent maintenance
downtime. |
 | Stronger and More Rugged Components
Stronger and more rugged components have been
utilized on the LS-3, making it more reliable and giving improved
performance over long periods of time. |
 | Access Ports
Access ports and unique alignment keys provide
easy access to align internal components, thereby reducing
maintenance downtime. |
 | Missing/Broken Slat Detector
A Missing/Broken Slat Detector signals the
operator when a slat is missing or has malfunctioned for any reason.
This reduces the possibility of defective containers reaching the
customer. |
 | Parabolic Reject Ramp
A new custom designed parabolic reject ramp
results in minimum acceleration during the rejection cycle. This
ensures gentle handling of small and unstable containers. |
|
| The LS-3 Slat
Rejection system is driven from the production conveyor chain, thus it
will operate from full speed down to zero speed and still maintain
synchronization with containers on the production line.
The LS-3 System can be utilized with Industrial Dynamics'
Fill Level and Filler Monitor equipment.
The LS-3 can also function as a "stand
alone" rejection system to be integrated with inspection systems
from other companies. When utilized in this manner, it is controlled by
the Free Standing Reject Controller. |

|
The
LS-3 Slat Rejector is a refined and updated version of the LS-1 and LS-2
systems which were originated by Industrial Dynamics in 1967. There are
now over 1,000 of these units operating worldwide.
This system utilizes a continuous motion rejection sequence that is
ideally suited to handle containers of any shape and size without change
parts. These containers may be randomly spaced and run at variable rates
on high speed production lines without affecting the performance of the
system.
The LS-3 uses multiple slats that move parallel to and are
synchronized with the production chain. When a container is to be
rejected, a slat (or slats) adjacent to the faulty container is
extended, gently pushing it off the production chain onto an adjacent
takeaway chain (refer to Figure 2). This rejection method allows
handling of all types of containers without product spillage from
missing caps or missealed tops. |
